The South Korea Football Association referee sex scandal emerged publicly in August 2026 after broadcaster JTBC reported that a 2016 government investigation found the Korea Football Association (KFA) had provided inappropriate entertainment, including paid sexual services, to foreign referees visiting South Korea for international matches in 2011 and 2012. The reported incidents occurred on seven occasions between March 2011 and March 2012 and included officials working matches connected to qualification for the 2014 FIFA World Cup and the 2012 London Olympics. The KFA subsequently apologized and said such conduct and use of association corporate cards no longer occurs.
