Two of the right-wing networks popular with Donald Trump have now been sued over pushing lies about the 2020 presidential election that he lost.

“Dominion Voting Systems has filed three $1.6 billion defamation lawsuits against two far-right media networks and a prominent ally of former President Donald Trump claiming they spread false information about fraud in the 2020 presidential election. The voting machine company filed lawsuits against One America News Network and Newsmax Media as well as businessman Patrick Byrne, the former head of Overstock.com,” Slate reported.

The outlets made false claims that votes in machines run by Dominion were switched from Trump to President Joe Biden.

The assertion was false and has been debunked by official audits and state-sanctioned re-canvassing of votes. The examinations proved that President Biden fairly defeated Trump by receiving more votes than him, both in the national popular vote and in the electoral college.

Despite this, Trump and his allies have still promoted the lie that the election was stolen. Now, some of his media allies may have to spend millions because of their lies.
