USA Soccer Hero Rapinoe Slams ‘Sad’ Trump For Rooting Against America

Donald Trump’s decision to root against America’s women’s soccer team competing in the Olympics has been deemed “sad” by popular star Megan Rapinoe.

Team USA recently won the bronze medal at the Olympics and for years has been the team to beat internationally, winning the World Cup and other tournaments that made the country proud. Despite their success, Trump slammed the medal-winning team, complaining that they are too “woke” – meaning they care about progressive social issues like gender equality – and argued that their stances contributed to not winning a gold against the best teams in the world.

“In an interview with Jack Doles of Nexstar Media Wire, Rapinoe responded to Trump’s trolling saying, ‘It’s a real sad dig into an old bag, … I’m just like, ‘You’re rooting for people to do bad?’ Yikes,'” the Mary Sue reported.

Some believe that Trump is still sore after 2019, when the team won the World Cup and Rapinoe shamed his administration for embracing bigotry against LGBTQ Americans.

Despite Trump’s whining, many Americans have united to praise the team for strongly representing the country and bringing a medal home to the USA.
