TSA Busted Madison Cawthorn Trying To Get Loaded Glock On Plane

Madison Cawthorn was caught trying to get a loaded gun onto an airplane.

Rep. Madison Cawthorn (R-NC) tried to bring a loaded Glock handgun onto an airplane, but was stopped by TSA agents.

Cawthorn was caught with the weapon at Asheville Regional Airport in February, but the incident was kept under wraps until recently.

The TSA took control of Cawthorn’s gun and held it for him until he came back through the airport, records now reveal.

“Carrying a loaded firearm through a TSA security checkpoint carries a minimum of a $3,000 fine up to a maximum fine of $10,000 and the possibility of federal prosecution. A repeat offender could face a fine of up to $13,910 and a criminal referral for prosecution,” CBS 17 reported.

It is now unclear whether Cawthorn has been subjected to the same fines and penalties a regular citizen would be after transporting weapons.

When asked for comment by the CBS affiliate in his state, Cawthorn’s office would not comment on the congressman’s run-in with law enforcement.

The Cawthorn incident raises new concerns about the congressman’s mental state after he traveled in 2017 to Adolph Hitler’s vacation home, the Eagle’s Nest in Bavaria.
