The Biden administration has announced that over 110 million doses of COVID-19 vaccine have been delivered around the world from the United States.
The major effort to fight the virus will provide millions of people with medicine desperately needed to ward off the dangerous infections that have killed millions.
“Today, the President will announce that the U.S. has now donated and shipped more than 110 million doses of its COVID-19 vaccines to more than 60 countries – a major milestone that cements the United States as the global leader in COVID-19 vaccine donations,” a White House press release noted.
The gift from America to the world is more than has been given by all other nations combined, the United Nations has noted.
Biden overdelivered after promising in June that 80 million vaccine doses would be sent out.
The administration also said that they plan to purchase more than 500 million doses of vaccine from Pfizer which will be sent out to 100 low-income countries in desperate need of medicines.
