Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy Talks About Assaulting Speaker Pelosi
Kevin McCarthy is now talking about physically attacking Speaker Pelosi.
House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy discussed physically assaulting Speaker Nancy Pelosi while speaking at a Republican Party fundraiser, a new report reveals.
Discussing the Speaker’s gavel and a replica he was given, McCarthy reportedly said, “It will be hard not to hit her with it but I will bang it down.”
McCarthy’s comment comes just a few months after his fellow Republicans attacked the U.S. Capitol, with some of the attackers chanting for the death of Pelosi and other key government leaders.
The Minority Leader has been caught in a web of political frustration, with his party unable to pass legislation since voters gave the Democrats control of the House in the 2018 election. McCarthy hopes to retake control and become Speaker himself, and using violent rhetoric may be part of that political calculus.
