GOP Congresswoman: ‘Nuts’ For Pelosi To Try To Stop COVID
A GOP congresswoman complains that COVID safety procedures are bad.
A Republican congresswoman complained to the right-wing Fox News that it is “nuts” for Speaker Nancy Pelosi to enact measures designed to stop spread of COVID-19.
Pelosi recently reinstated a mask mandate in the U.S. Capitol in response to the Delta variant of the virus. Experts have said the variant is spreading in large part due to the unvaccinated influenced by Republican politicians and outlets like Fox News.
Rep. Kat Cammack (R-FL) doesn’t like it.
“It’s a little bit hypocritical, actually a lot hypocritical, when you think about it. You walk through the rotunda of the United States Capitol to the Senate side and magic pixie dust is there and that prevents COVID on the Senate side where unbelievably they don’t have a mask mandate. It’s just nuts,” she raged in an appearance on Fox.
Republican opposition to COVID-19 remedies have been pervasive, and in the case of Donald Trump’s early response to the viral outbreak, is said to have contributed to the deaths of over 600,000 Americans.
