Fake Arizona ‘Audit’ Brought In $5.7 Million From GOP Donors

GOP donors sent millions to finance the fake ‘audit’ in Arizona.

Republican donors contributed at least $5.7 million for the phony “audit” of the 2020 election vote in Arizona, newly released data reveals.

“Groups run by by pro-Trump celebrities who’ve campaigned for months on the lie that Donald Trump’s second term was stolen for him have collectively given millions of dollars to the sham “audit” of Maricopa County, Arizona’s 2020 election results, constituting the vast majority of the audit’s funding,” Talking Points Memo reported.

The money has gone to a scientifically dubious and politically ineffective enterprise which has fed into debunked conspiracy theories that the 2020 election was stolen from Donald Trump by President Joe Biden.

The so-called “audit” has been run by Trump supporters upset by his electoral loss, desperate to prove that Biden did not win the key swing state.

But the results of the election in Arizona have gone through official recounts and no such discrepancies have been unearthed. The results, where Biden defeated Trump in what was historically Republican territory, will stand despite the right’s collective temper tantrum.
