‘Moron’ McCarthy: Pelosi Gives GOP Leader New Nickname

House Minority Leader Kevin McCarthy may now be known as “Moron McCarthy” after Speaker Nancy Pelosi gave the Republican leader a new moniker.

“He’s such a moron,” Pelosi said to reporters after being asked about McCarthy’s decision to criticize a mask mandate in the House.

The remark comes after McCarthy made what many have described as an unhinged tweet in response to the mandate. On Twitter, he wrote, “Make no mistake — The threat of bringing masks back is not a decision based on science, but a decision conjured up by liberal government officials who want to continue to live in a perpetual pandemic state.”

Masks have been forced to return after the rise of the Delta variant of COVID-19. Many of McCarthy’s Republican colleagues in the House and Senate, along with right-wing outlets like Fox News, have been singled out for fostering the variant with their anti-vaccine rhetoric and actions.
