Poll: Republicans In Despair About Future Of Party

Republicans are in complete despair over the party’s future, new poll reveals.

Republicans are extremely pessimistic about the future of the Republican Party, a new poll has revealed.

On the heels of losing the presidential election and complete control of Congress, members of the party are despondent, results from a new Associated Press-NORC Center for Public Affairs Research poll shows.

Only 41% of Republicans in the poll say they are optimistic about the party’s future, a massive drop in confidence from the highs of 2017, when the GOP had control over the White House, House, and Senate.

A meager 13% say they have optimism about the party, while 33% report that their mood about the future is pessimistic.

The poll also showed that 66% of Republicans are believers in the “big lie” that Donald Trump won the 2020 election. Trump lost both the popular vote and the electoral college to President Joe Biden.

Republicans also show signs of living in an alternate reality when it comes to Trump. While 60% of the public has an overall unfavorable opinion of Trump, that number is nearly inverted among Republicans, where 76% view him favorably and many want the 2020 election loser to continue leading the party.
