Party Panics As GOP Voters Dying The Most In Latest COVID Wave

Republicans are worried their vaccine lies could hurt the party’s 2022 chances.

Republican leaders are in a panic ahead of the 2022 midterm elections as they realize that the current wave of COVID infections is affecting their own voters the most.

The current wave of COVID infections and deaths has been disproportionately among the unvaccinated, which has turned out to mostly be Republicans.

For the past year the party has been pushing lies about the COVID outbreak and now has been doing the same with the vaccine. That has led to widespread skepticism among Republican core voters. Meanwhile, Democrats like President Joe Biden have promoted the vaccine and their voters have gotten the medicine.

Ahead of the 2022 midterm elections, Republicans are now concerned that this could hurt them politically.

“I mean, it’s our base, right?” Rep. Adam Kinzinger (R-IL) said in an interview. “These are our voters and I think we have a responsibility to say, get vaccinated.”

The group realization could come too late. Despite a few pro-vaccine messages on Fox News, top-rated host Sean Hannity recently returned to discouraging vaccination while fellow host Tucker Carlson has had a nightly parade of vaccine misinformation on air. Even though Fox staffers are vaccinated, the message the millions of conservatives who rely on the channel are getting remains: Don’t get vaccinated.

They’re listening, and getting sick, and dying.
