Rep. Matt Gaetz’s campaign paid $25,000 to a lawyer connected to notorious pedophile rapist Jeffrey Epstein, a new report reveals.
“Rep. Matt Gaetz’s campaign paid $25,000 in June to a Manhattan criminal defense attorney who lists Jeffrey Epstein, the convicted sex offender who killed himself in prison, as a notable client, according to a filing Thursday with the Federal Election Commission,” the Washington Post revealed.
Gaetz’s representatives refused to answer the paper’s questions about the controversial transfer of funds.
The Republican congressman is currently under investigation by federal authorities for possibly transporting an underage girl across state lines. Reports have indicated that Gaetz, one of the most visible pro-Trump Republicans in Congress, could have had a sexual relationship with the minor.
The Post reports that the funds were sent to the offices of Marc Fernich, who lists Epstein as a client on his website.
Epstein, who killed himself in prison, was accused of raping multiple young women that he kept on an island frequented by the elite.
