At least 1,143 deaths from coronavirus were reported on August 21 as Melania Trump revealed photos of the makeover of the White House Rose Garden.

The overall death toll from the COVID-19 pandemic in America is at least 175,695.

The controversial reimagining of the iconic White House location was shown off by the Trump administration and its allies in new photos.

But immediately many began taking note of the tone-deafness of touting a garden while the country suffers through the worst pandemic in generations.

“Congratulations to @FLOTUS on the completion of her beautiful renovation of the @WhiteHouse Rose Garden!” Trump campaign aide Boris Epshteyn pointed out on his Twitter account.

In addition to the poorly timed reveal, many also questioned the aesthetics of the redo. The Trumps had many of the Rose Garden’s colorful flowers removed, only to be replaced with white ones.
