Trump administration official says systemic racism isn’t a major problem despite the murder of George Floyd and others.
HUD Secretary Ben Carson, who is black, told CNN on Sunday, “I grew up in a time when there was real systemic racism … That kind of thing was not uncommon when I was growing up. That kind of thing is very uncommon now.”
The Trump administration has often had Carson speak out to defend Trump on race issues. Trump has made racist comments and statements within the presidency and before.
