The White House announced that Donald Trump will not appear before the public as Americans protest against racist police violence.
Just in, via @KevinBohnCNN: "We will not see President Trump today on camera. The White House has declared a photo lid for today."

The White House has called a “lid,” which means we won’t see Trump for the rest of the day. (Lids can be lifted, but it appears POTUS won’t appear in public until tomorrow.)

I’m the pooler today and a lid was called before I even made it to the White House, meaning Trump is unlikely to do anything public or leave the area today. A small group of protesters is silently holding hands outside one entrance. Graffiti close to WH: pic.twitter.com/W08qn4otS8

There is now a travel photo lid at the White House on this Sunday. That means no on-camera statements or movements expected from President Trump until tomorrow. Lids have been lifted before but this would indicate no Oval Office address or speech to the nation planned for today.

The country is literally on fire. People are fed up w/ black folks & people of color being treated unfairly — a suffocating racism.
And, the White House called a lid at 11:32 am so we aren’t expected to see President Trump today. But, he is tweeting — lashing out at Democrats. pic.twitter.com/RWSBje4xI5

The White House declared a lid at 11:32. That means we shouldn’t expect to see or hear from President Trump (aside from the potential for tweets), on the day after protests broke out all over America and multiple cities saw violent clashes between police and protestors, looting.
