Trump tweeted out the logo for his new Space Force, only to find out that the logo is identical to the one used by Star Trek.
Trump proudly released the Space Force logo in a tweet:
After consultation with our Great Military Leaders, designers, and others, I am pleased to present the new logo for the United States Space Force, the Sixth Branch of our Magnificent Military! pic.twitter.com/TC8pT4yHFT

Almost immediately it became clear that the logo was the same as the Star Trek logo.

“Ahem. We are expecting some royalties from this…,” wrote Star Trek icon George Takei. He added, “I feel like Melania must have had a hand in copyi–I mean, designing this.”
During the 2016 election it was discovered that Melania Trump’s Republican convention speech was copied from a Michelle Obama speech.
The logo swipe is the second recent controversy involving Space Force. Trump was mocked when the new Space Force military uniforms were unveiled, showing camouflage unnecessary in space.
