A Democrat has won the governor’s race in blood-red Louisiana days after Trump campaigned for his opponent.
“Louisiana Gov. John Bel Edwards won reelection Saturday, the second gubernatorial victory for Democrats in a red state this month.
Edwards, the only Democratic governor in the Deep South, narrowly defeated Republican businessman Eddie Rispone, 51 percent to 49 percent, according to The Associated Press.
